Barrie Gill (31 October 1934-22 January 2003) was a presenter on the Original format of Top Gear for its first two series, which aired in 1978 and 1979 respectively, starring in a total of 14 episodes. As a motorsports commentator, he would work alongside William Woollard during the early days of Rally Report.
After appearing in all 10 episodes of the show's first series as Angela Rippon's main co-host, replacing Midlands Today newsreader Tom Coyne, his role would be downgraded to recurring for Series 2 in light of new additions to the cast, before being replaced entirely by Judith Jackson from Series 3.
