Cadillac Brougham is a full-sized sedan built by Cadillac from 1986 to 1992. The Brougham name was used in some Cadillac models including the Fleetwood. The single name appeared in early MY-models.

The Brougham featured a 5 to 5.7-litre V8 engine from Oldsmobile instead of the Chevrolet small-block and was exclusively shipped with a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The Brougham also retains the FR layout while the Fleetwood shifted to the FF layout. Early to mid MY-models have an electronically controlled carburetor that's reliable, but not powerful.

The cross-hatch grille was replaced with a vertical-slat grille in 1989, receiving facelift a year later. The 5-litre LV8 includes fuel-injection with at least 108 bhp. In 1992, the Brougham ended the production as the Fleetwood reverted to FR drivetrain.

Appearances[]

  • In USA Special, James May purchased the Brougham in Miami under $1,000, but it had electrical issues, often requiring to be jump started, but it has a working air conditioner (which was later sabotaged) that dissipites heat. During the challenge in Alabama, Jeremy Clarkson painted provocative slogans, such as 'Hillary for President', 'NASCAR sucks' and 'I'm bi', which were later removed when the slogans offended a gas station owner. Unlike the other presenters' cars, no one in New Orleans wanted to buy James' Cadillac due to the car's condition.
