Top Gear Wiki

Clarkson's Top 100 Cars was the name of the sixth Clarkson home video release, as part of a series which would be released yearly through to 2011. These videos were instrumental in making Jeremy Clarkson a household name, in addition to giving Clarkson an opportunity to show the world how he'd present a show around cars. This video was the third and final of three releases made during his hiatus from Top Gear.

Synopsis[]

This video continued the trend of its predecessors, with Clarkson driving some supercars around a track and destroying a "bad" one, this time around a Morris Marina, which he disposes of by hooking up to a crane and knocking down a few other despised cars in a giant game of Bar Skittles. Elsewhere the video centres on Clarkson's personal top 100 cars, which he promoted on Granada Television's Men & Motors channel in 2001.

Trivia[]

  • This was the second Clarkson home video to appear on DVD on the day of its release, and the first to release in a consecutive manner, with every successive home video following this trend.
  • Despite being filmed in 16:9, this DVD release is improperly configured to display as 4:3 by default on most media players, leading a user to manually set it to the correct aspect ratio. This problem would be fixed for No Limits onwards.
