At Full Throttle was the name of the fifth Clarkson home video release, as part of a series which would be released yearly through to 2011. These videos were instrumental in making Jeremy Clarkson a household name, in addition to giving Clarkson an opportunity to show the world how he'd present a show around cars. This video was the second of three releases made during his hiatus from Top Gear, and featured then-current host Vicki Butler-Henderson in a secondary role.

Synopsis[]

This video continued the trend of its predecessors, with Clarkson driving some supercars around a track and destroying a "bad" one, this time around a badly-modified Ford Sierra GL, which he disposes of by dumping various household objects from a height onto the roof and bonnet of the car, before shooting it from a car cannon at the top of a quarry. Elsewhere the video centres on the world of tuning cars, with Jeremy and Vicki driving many tuned performance vehicles, including Clarkson's own Rover SD1 and Henderson's own Vauxhall Nova, which they each modify from stock after buying them at a car auction.

Trivia[]

  • Despite its predecessor, Head to Head, releasing on DVD alongside VHS on the day of its release, At Full Throttle would remain a VHS-exclusive release until 2004, when it received a limited re-release production run alongside Clarkson's first three home video releases.
