Ferrari Enzo is a supercar manufactured by an Italian manufacturer Ferrari from 2002-2004. The car came with sophisticated F1 technologies like carbon-fibre chassis, F1-style AMT gearbox, C/SiC brakes and active aero. The car was capable to generate greater downforce at 1,709 lb-f.

Body design retains from the previous F40 and F50 but engine cover added the greenhouse glass, doors got it's reshaped with butterfly doors and the rear wing was removed. Like F50, it retains the V12 engine with increased displacement overall body dimension is slightly longer, wider and bit high. Tyres sourced from the Bridgestone. The design is carried later to Maserati MC12 though less powerful and different bodywork.

Car sales was indeed for existing owners of F40 and F50, which was eventually sold before the production began with only 399 units. However, the production version sold to nearly at 200 units totaling to nearly 500 units. The 400th production car was donated to the Vatican for charity, then later sold at Sotheby's auction.

A track-only Ferrari FXX retains the body shape with different design, white stripes vinyl, and an additional rear wing with three separated mounted (one for the low rise wing on the boot and two for both tailights) and an "FXX" logo (only on the signature red colour). A rarely white colour was converted to road version. It has a revised suspension, an exclusively 6.3-litre engine, gearbox with quicker shift time at ~0.1 second, the use of slick-tyres, etc.

30th FXX was painted black was exclusively for Michael Schumacher after retired F1 in 2006. Black FXX also takes the leaderboard on Top Gear test track later was removed for not being a road-legal.

Appearances[]

  • In Series 5, Episode 2, Jeremy borrows a Ferrari Enzo from the one of its lucky customer Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason. He praises it for it's speed, savage handling, power and excitement, stating to be a focused driver's car. Later that same episode however he states he prefers it's grandfather the F40 for being more exciting as he compares both cars to the c. At the hands of The Stig, the car sets the fastest time at 1:19.0 beating the Carrera GT at the Top Gear Test Track.
  • In Series 6, Episode 11, the Enzo was used by James to compose the Top Gear theme with engine noises.
  • In Clarkson: Heaven and Hell, Jeremy once again revisits the Enzo stating it to be not as good as the F40, nor his favourite Ferrari, and finding it to be too impractical despite praising it's abilities.

Trivia[]

  • The car designer was the same who designed the NA1 Honda NSX. Then, the latter Ferrari and Maserati models.
