Ford Focus is a compact car manufactured by the Ford Motor Company from 1998 to 2025. The Focus is the successor to Ford Escort (as Ford Laser in Australasia) which continue to be built until 2002. Focus first launch European market in 1998, then later in North America in the following year including overseas market.

First-gen Focus has two body style hatchback and saloon. 5-door version added in 2001. Engines mostly powered Zetec petrol engines including Duratec for Ford Focus RS and ST, diesels are Endura and Duratorq both displaces at 1.8-litre only available in this said gen. A CVH engine is only in North America, first-gen continues to built until 2007 (2005 in Europe).

Second-gen has a two distinctive body design with separate model code, first released in 2005 for Europe then 2007 for North America. Duratec engine available in some trims including 2.5-litre inline-5.

Third-gen introduces EcoBoost engine either inline-3 or 4 engine with turbocharged. A powerful 2.3-litre exclusively for Focus RS now with AWD, this gen discontinues the RS. Fourth-gen all petrol engines now EcoBoost and EcoBlue for diesel including hybrid.

The Focus was permanently discontinued in November 2025.

  • In Series 5, Episode 2, Richard Hammond roadtested the Focus in comparison of the Vauxhall Astra and the Volkswagen Golf, which he in-favour among the three.
  • In Series 4, Episode 7, the stolen Focus Mk1 was featured a young driver whose in an influence of the drugs. He is incapable in sticking the speed limit but he's safe on speed camera with no flash.
  • In Series 7, Episode 3, Jeremy Clarkson tested the second-gen Ford Focus ST where he likes the handling albeit lacks a bit of stiffness of anti-roll bar, reliability, and fun to drive.
