Hyundai Coupe is a global badged version of the Tiburon produced from 1996 to 2008. The Coupe is the direct successor to the S-Coupe.
Like the S-Coupe, it continues to offer the inline-4 engine but replaced a newer Beta which is sourced from the Elantra. First-gen Coupe comes with 1.6 to 2-litre displacement with under 140-bhp, the 2-litre version has higher PWR ratio clocked with under 9-seconds in nought to sixty. It's styling based on the coke bottle.
In 1999, the Coupe receives facelift and coded as RD2 with changes like the bug-eyed headlamp, rear bumper, and front-end. First-gen Coupe continues to build until 2001.
Second-gen Coupe introduced in 2001. It receives the newer design, slightly more dimension and the top-end 2.7-litre Theta V6. Base model replaces the 1.6-litre as Alpha but dropped the 1.8-litre; 2-litre version was upgraded as Beta II. Manual version comes with 17-inch wheels and high-rear wing. It is standard in UK-spec market. In Pre-late MY-model receives facelift with the slightly changes on the front-bumper and the headlamp.
In 2008, the Tiburon was permanently discontinued and replaced the Veloster in 2011.
