Lexus LS is a flagship luxury saloon built by Lexus since 1989. This was the first Lexus model line-up was ever produced. In Japan home market, the LS known as the Toyota Celsior until in 2006.
The LS was one of few cars were over-engineered and being as the highest development cost results to driven over million miles. The LS launched market in 1989. LS exclusively with naturally-aspirated V8 engine ranging 4 to 5-litre and automatic gearbox, it was first to introduce the telescopic steering tilt, SRS airbag, power adjuster seat belts, etc. LS competes the BMW and Mercedes.
Early MY LS400 suffered recalls on defective and overheated brake lights it was addressed. In Pre late-MY first-gen LS400 also introduced a satnav voice guide this was the first vehicle to equip, the first LS400 production ended in 1994 and replaced as UCF20.
UCF20 introduced in 1995, the LS400 retained its name the UCF20 has an improved chassis and slightly improve fuel economy. The UCF20 added the CD changer later comes with CD-ROM navigation system and Adaptive criuse control. VVT-i system was implemented in 1997 MY-model. The UCF20 ended in 2000.
Third-gen UCF30, saw the introduction of many equip more safety features and updated navigation systems with 4.3-litre V8, it was produced until 2006.
UCF40 was the last-gen to use the V8, it is increased to 5-litre. Uniquely from the past-gen the UCF40 equipped with driving assist feature including LDW system and hybrid version as well. It produced until 2017.
The current fifth-gen, the V8 was phased out and replaced with smaller V6 engine displaces at 3.5-litre including the Dynamic Force version. 2021 model receives updates on the engine, and some features as well.

- In Police Car Challenge, James May purchased LS400 under 900 pounds. His equipment includes the rear paint spray nozzle, on Power Lap he was behind on Stig's lap. He successfully clear off all vehicles involved accident, but he was unable to stop Stig whilst driven on the stolen BMW, as the Stig uses windscreen wipers to remove pink paint on windscreen.
