Hey Senna! As you know, I've been talking with Alex about a merge project and I know he's been talking with you about it too. Have you heard any more about that or have any ideas for it? :) --Spongebob456talk 15:43, April 21, 2020 (UTC)
Hi Spongebob, Hope you're keeping well, yes the merge is meant to change the Top Gear Fan Wiki to the Car Show Wikia. Mainly this was down to confusion over the TGT additional wikia, which was seen as unnecessary. I'd suggest this wikia gets deleted, as we already have a TGT content here. Fifth Gear, and other shows can be included here as well.
But can you hold off on TGT pages for the time being? I'm thinking of rebranding the Wiki to focus on car shows as a whole, and need some time before a decision is made by higher-ups. You're not in trouble or anything. Thanks in advance.
All done sir. Here are the Links: Freddie Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness. BTW for Series 27, should we add a link called Top Gear (2019+) or is should we keep it as Top Gear (2016+) as this represents every series following Jeremy Clarkson's series.
Thanks very much - they look good! I'll add the "Cast" template to them once I figure out what's causing the template to be considered "non-portable", even though the Series templates were based off of it. I'll also update the cast portal on the main page, and probably will replace the current image of Harris with the same shoot you found the Flintoff/McGuinness ones from.
As for your question, I think if they replaced Harris as well, then it would be necessary as none of the hosts from 2016 would remain (not including Schmitz/Jordan as they're both part-time hosts). But as he's stayed on as a full-time presenter the whole time, I consider the post-Clarkson era centred around him. If Harris were to leave, then it would be a new era for sure.
Seems the Cast template was working fine and it was just Wikia working slow - have added them and redesigned the main page. Tell me if you feel there's anything missing - I've changed the order so it's now Seasons first, followed by Cast (included the current and the main run), then trailers, then the BBC/Reality Show networks we're obligated to have.
There were two very good reasons as to why your image for "The Worst Car" article was deleted:
1. It was low resolution, when I had uploaded the HQ version seconds prior 2. The filename was gibberish
And yet, you re-added the image with an all-caps filename (clearly annoyed at my decision) without even checking the recently added images for the high-res cover.
There have also been quite a few situations now where I have added content to an article, such as Series 3, Episode 14 (TGT) or Top Gear: The Perfect Road Trip 2, only to have you delete some, if not all of my additions with no reason given. I don't mind you removing content from an article, but at least state your reasoning behind it. The fact that you never write a reason for your edits means that if this happens again in the near future, it will be considered vandalism and lead to a 1-day block. I really don't want to do this considering you're the only consistent active editor, but it may be my only choice.
I hope you understand and continue to contribute positively to this Wiki.
I apologise for this incident. I will leave the Top Gear Articles as they are and apologise for the low quality image, looking back, it was a major mistake. For Series 3, Episode 14 (TGT), it was mainly the points on the Sierra RS Cosworth, that were considered irrelevant. Top Gear: The Perfect Road Trip 2 was a mistake, just wanted to be seen as productive. I was just aware that the 4C was a 4C Coupe and the Corvette was a Stingray Convertible. Many apologies for this, In future i will only edit positively to the wikia and did not mean to upset you in any cause. Let's make this wikia stronger and once again, apologies.
P.S The Caps Lock, on Top Gear: The Worst Car in the History of the World was not at annoyance of your removal, I was just, stupidly, without noticing the quality of the image, aware that I had not added a proper description so was just fulfiling this. Once again, apologies for my actions.
Thank you very much for these. I've edited the pages as I see suitable with mainly edits from past to present tense. One minor point, during CBC in Series 1, Many of the guests weren't actually shown i.e. Charlize Theron, Kimi Raikonen and Nena. Therefore I question the necessity of this section in this table. Other than that, all other edits seem fine.
Also since a lot of pages related to the Grand Tour, the main page, the episode page and several episodes of Series 2 appear as locked and require editing. Feel free to edit these.
Alright, since I now finally have control of the Wiki, I've unlocked the S1 and S2 episode pages, in addition to the episode list. I'll be going through each page that's protected and unprotect it thusly, so that you and any other member can edit it.
