Michele Newman was a presenter on the original format of Top Gear from Series 29 in 1993 through to Series 40 in 1998. She would appear in over 51 episodes, and was largely a test driver of the newest cars, a role that was taken over by James May and Julia Bradbury upon her departure from the show.
At the time of her departure in 1998, she was the 9th longest serving host of the show. As of 2019 she remains the 13th most frequently appearing host.
In 1996, she starred in Top Gear: How To Buy A Used Car, a home video release produced in association with insurance firm Alliance & Leicester.
