Mitsubishi Starion is a fastback coupe built by Mitsubishi. Starion is the only RWD coupe even built. The name Starion portmeanau of Star of Arion in fact was supposed to be stallion was problematic for pronounciation in Japanese.
Starion has a badged version in North America with Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth. Most global markets are widebodied, meaning that car width is a bit wider except in Japan for compliance dimension. Engines are 2 and 2.6-litre inline-4 turbocharged; NA engine for Japan. Early MY has an implementation of multi-port injection.
Starion has success in motorsports including rallying (with 4WD version). Production stopped in 1989, later replaced with Mitsubishi 3000GT (or GTO).

- In Clarkson's Car Years, Jeremy recalls the Starion where he explains the name origin (as already stated above).
- In Clarkson's Top 100 Cars, the Colt Starion was ranked in 87th place. The car was described as the Japanese equivalent to the Ford Capri.
- In Series 6, Episode 2 of Top Gear, during the Coupés That Aren't Porsches Challenge, Jeremy's car of choice is a red Mitsubishi Starion, which he mentions was the last one imported into the UK. He scored fewer points in challenges like reliability (going to Bristol), Alpine time attack, losing among the three.
