The Porsche 911 GT2 is a high-performance sports car built by Porsche since 1993. It is based on the 911 Turbo, and uses a similar twin-turbocharged engine, but features numerous upgrades, including engine upgrades, larger brakes, and stiffer suspension calibration. The GT2 is significantly lighter than the Turbo due to its use of rear-wheel-drive and the reduction or removal of interior components.

For both the 997 and 991, the RS model was introduced as the fastest model among the 911 lineup. Whereas most modern 911s have been seen as getting easier, the GT2 had a tendency of being a widowmaker and having the old 911 Characteristics. These included, an intense difficulty and a car that had a tendency to understeer, followed by oversteer. Jeremy Clarkson loathed both the 996 and 997 versions of the car but grew highly fond of the 991 giving it a five star rating in The Sunday Times Magazine.
