The Range Rover Sport is a car manufactured by British auto company, Land Rover. It was first produced in 2005 and is a variation of teh Range Rover. The first generation (codename: L320) started production in 2005, and was replaced by the second generation Sport (codename: L494) in 2013. The first generation car was based on a Discovery so not living up to it's name as Range Rover Sport. The second generation car was seen as a signficant improvement in managing to both be sporty and high riding.

  • In Series 6, Episode 1, Jeremy reviews the first generation Sport in Dorset. Despite praising the speed, handling and equipment, he criticises the car's styling, features and lack of a split tailgate like the proper Range Rover. He then tries to see how good it is off road by having it take on a Challenger 2 Tank. Despite the Sport doing ok, it ultimately gets blown up by the Tank.
  • In Clarkson: Heaven and Hell, Jeremy revists the first generation Sport, once again praising the speed and handling but criticisng the styling, off road ability and not being as good as the regular Range Rover.
  • In Top Gear America "Mammoth Mountain" Foust brings a first generation Sport as the best 4x4 against Wood in a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 and Ferrara in a Cadillac Escalade.
  • In Series 20, Episode 6, after waving goodbye to the first generation Sport, Richard reviews the second generation sport and finds it to be a much better car. Not only can it go off road better than before but due to the newer chassis it's better round a track. He then uses the Stig to show how much faster the Sport is compared to a Mini JCW.
