Sabine Schmitz was a German former-professional driver for BMW and a host of Top Gear. Her name earned as the 'Queen of Nurburgring'.

Schmitz first appeared in Series 5, Episode 5, where she coach Clarkson to lap in the Nordschleife Touristenfahrten which Clarkson managed under 10-minutes, then she piloted the Jaguar E-Type where she was way ahead of it's lapped.
She returned in Series 6, Episode 7, this time in the Ford Transit Mk4 with the same challenge. Along with Hammond as passenger, she lapped with 10-minutes and 23-seconds (10:23), then proceeds to lighten it's weight and again with 8-seconds behind.
Top Gear host[]
On February 11th 2016, it was confirmed that Sabine would co-present Top Gear's twenty-third season along with Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris, Rory Reid, Eddie Jordan and The Stig. She continued as host in the show's twenty-fourth series and will return for its twenty-fifth season in 2018.
She died in 17 March 2021, after a battle with cancer. Top Gear presenters from the past (includes Jeremy Clarkson) to present paid tribute to her on social media.

- She along with Matt LeBlanc and Eddie Jordan, are the first non-British hosts of the show since its revival in 2002. Schmitz was German.
