The sixth episode of the twelfth series of Top Gear aired on the 7th of December, 2008. It was presented by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May and The Stig. Then-London Mayor Boris Johnson was the guest star, having previously appeared in Series 2, Episode 4.
Synopsis[]
As Jeremy Clarkson cannot fit in the Caterham R500 Superlight's diminutive frame, the task of driving the car was delegated to fellow host Richard Hammond.
Tonight...[]
- Boris Johnson is the mayor in our Reasonably Priced Car...
- Jeremy attempts an old fashioned sensible road test of the new Ford Fiesta...
- And has communism ever produced a good car?
Trivia[]
- Due to Jeremy's throat infection, Richard Hammond lent his voice for the introductory sequence, including the intro credits. Though this happened in the early episodes, the only other time Clarkson would not fulfill this role during the second half of his tenure on the relaunched show is the Final Series 22 Episode.
- For the segments in which Clarkson provided voiceovers, his voice is noticeably rough-sounding as a result of this illness before it prevented his communication entirely.
