The second episode of the fifteenth series of Top Gear aired on the 4th of July, 2010. It was presented by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May and The Stig. Politician Alastair Campbell was the guest star.
Synopsis[]
After a warm welcome, Jeremy declares that track days have become very popular. The idea is you bring your own car, wear a horrible branded shirt (which he demonstrates by pointing to a member of the audience wearing a McLaren T-Shirt), drive as fast as you can for as long as you want, and then you go home. Richard remarks that they have grown into quite a business these past few years, with some companies even offering full track-day cars such as the KTM X-Bow. However, a car like the aforementioned X-Bow costs £45,000, which he considers a lot for a car that has no practicality whatsoever.
So, James adds, to address this, the producers gave each member of the trio £5,000 to buy a four-door saloon which could be used every day, but would also be good on a track day. As this test would be serious, they were instructed to meet up in the world's "least amusing city", Berlin.
