Segments[]

Tonight...[]

  • [Jeremy] stop[s] for petrol...
  • Richard wears some sunglasses...
  • And James sees some shirts...

Film[]

It's another one of Top Gear's epic races as Jeremy races James and Richard from Wembley Stadium to the San Siro Stadium in Italy. Jeremy uses the Shelby Mustang GT500 while James and Richard use the new and improved Eurostar train. The winner of the race would get a front row seat at a football match; the problem was there was only one ticket.

Power Test[]

Jeremy tests the Toyota GT86 at the track against its identical twin, the Subaru BRZ.

SIARPC[]

Scottish singer and songwriter Amy Macdonald sets a lap in the Kia Cee'd.

Controversy[]

Almost a year after the original airing of the episode, The Daily Mirror obtained footage of an outtake of Clarkson's GT86/BRZ review in which he appears to mumble a particular racial epithet which frequently appeared in the nursery rhyme which Jeremy used at the time of his childhood. The footage prompted Clarkson to release an apology video and caused the BBC to issue him a 'final warning', which would later lead to his dismissal, leaving Series 22 permanently unfinished with three episodes left to air.

Trivia[]

This is the last race-format episode during the trio's tenure on Top Gear (although other races would take place after this and prior to Clarkson's dismissal). The next, and rather final traditional race the trio would embark upon would be the New York race in The Fall Guys.

As such this happens to be the only race where Jeremy in the car had lost.
