The twenty-fifth series of Top Gear was officially announced in early 2017 and began filming in June of the same year. It will once again feature presenters Matt LeBlanc, Rory Reid, and Chris Harris with regular appearances from Sabine Schmitz and Eddie Jordan. The series premiered on the 25th of February, 2018.

The show began filming its twenty-fifth series on the 22nd of June, 2017 when Harris and LeBlanc visited the western parts of Norway. The pair were later condemned by local Norwegian authorities for being caught some 100mph over the speed limit in a tunnel.

LeBlanc, in an interview with the BBC, also mentioned that he had filmed in California, Italy, and France, as well as the aforementioned trip to Norway. The team was also spotted filming in the UK with a series of secondhand British luxury cars.

In November, LeBlanc posted a photo of himself and Harris in Japan. In January, Harris and LeBlanc were spotted filming with a pair of Tuk Tuks in Sri Lanka.

A first trailer was released on the 25th of December, 2017, showing Reid, Harris, and LeBlanc being pursued by Ken Block through an airfield in Utah in three V8 sports cars.

A second trailer was released on the 26th of January, 2018, showcasing various films from the series in Italy, Japan, and the UK. Shortly after it was revealed that the premiere would take place on the 25th February 2018.

Trivia[]

  • It is the first series since series 22 that the presenting team has not changed, following Clarkson, Hammond, and May's replacing in series 23 and Chris Evans' quitting before the beginning of series 24.
  • This season also introduced an all-new logo for the series
  • The classic Top Gear intro was replaced for the first time since the show's revival in 2002
