The twenty-sixth series of Top Gear was officially announced in early 2018 and began on the 17th of February, 2019. The series concluded on the 17th of March, 2019.

It once again featured presenters Matt LeBlancRory Reid, and Chris Harris, with regular appearances from Sabine Schmitz.

Production[]

Many items which were filmed during the tenure of Series 25 but were not aired are likely to air in Series 26.

These include Harris and LeBlanc, filming in Norway with a Ferrari GTC4Lusso and a Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo. Both hosts were later spotted filming in Sri Lanka with a pair of Tuk-Tuks.

Along with Reid the Team were spotted filming in the UK with a series of secondhand British luxury cars.

There is also likely to be a twin test between the new BMW M5 and the Mercedes Benz E63 AMG S.

A trailer was released on the 13th January 2019 showcasing many films in Sri Lanka, Norway, the UK and many other new segments including tests of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, Rolls Royce Phantom, Aston Martin Vantage and Bentley Continental GT.

Trivia[]

  • The series marked the final appearance of Matt LeBlanc and Rory Reid, who had presented the show since its twenty-third series
  • Several of the films, including Harris and LeBlanc's Norway shootout, was shot for the previous season, but were delayed for unknown reasons
