Trivia[]
This episode is significant for a number of reasons, as the final studio-based episode of Clarkson, Hammond, and May's careers together:
- It is the last episode in which The Grand Tour's tent was used for filming studio segments. Consequently, this episode also marked the end of studio-based segments such as Conversation Street.
- It is the very last episode to the signature track tests at the Eboladrome or laps for fast cars.
- It's also the last episode to feature standalone segments. The trio will instead be presenting their own interests on separate shows commissioned by Amazon and continuing special one-off episodes of The Grand Tour.
- It is the last time Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May present any studio-based car show, with news segments, track tests and standalone segments; a format they had followed for almost 17 years since the start of the relaunched Top Gear. Beyond this point, The Grand Tour will be comprised of specials filmed on-location only.
- It is the last episode to be aired weekly along with the rest of its series. For Series 4, the Specials would air at random times, rather than weekly cohesively as they had done in the past.
- It is the first and likely only time in The Grand Tour in which the trio have directly acknowledged their previous work on Top Gear. The episode makes use of many classic clips from the series through a licencing agreement with the BBC, who are credited during the outro sequence.
- It is the first time Hammond's Vampire Dragster Crash was shown since Series 9, Episode 1, twelve and a half years earlier.
- This is the first and only episode in which Jeremy Clarkson cries.
