Suzuki Liana is a badged version for the European market including some markets replacing the Suzuki Esteem. Liana has two body styles saloon and 5-door hatchback. European version Liana becomes a reasonable alternative choice in comparison of some small saloons and mini-MPV including the affordability.

Engines are from the Suzuki, also includes the Mitsubishi (for petrol) and Peugeot (for diesel) engines. Peugeot diesel engines has a VGT turbocharged and common rail only in 2-litre; All-wheel-drive is only in 2.3-litre. Liana production ends in 2005 for some European markets replacing the Suzuki SX4.

In Top Gear, Liana is the first car aftermath of the relaunch serves as the first incarnation of the Star in a Reasonably-Priced Car.
