  • I know I've been awfully quiet these past couple of weeks, I just want you to know it wasn't personal or anything to that effect.

I made sure to get in a meaningful edit each day, but truth be told I've been focusing on other efforts, including a big archival project on the show's entire history from the '70s onwards.

Just so it's known, I am still planning a merge since an end for TGT appears to be in sight and I feel there'd be very little sense in keeping it segragated, but since both shows have started up again, I will wait until things quieten down in the new year. At the moment there's just too much noise, and my proposed merge will just cause disarray as we stand.

    • Hey! Thanks so much for the update. Apologies for my very late reply, I was on annual leave for Christmas. Did you have a good holiday season?

I think that is a totally sensible decision. I saw the news that James is considering leaving the show, and I can't help but feel the show has lost a lot of momentum. It all seems a bit uncertain.

With the merge, have you had any thoughts on how you plan to go about it?

    • Hey there! Just checking in to see if there are any more details on this. :)

    • It's fine. I'll be updating the main page and doing a few other odd jobs. Don't know if you've been checking other messages but SennaPerformante agrees it's best to merge everything in to a central hub. There will need to be some preparation beforehand though.

    • Sounds good! That's what I was asking really - do you have any plans yet for preparation?

    • Not really, I want to wait until S28 finishes up so there won't be any sudden additions. I've already got an idea of how I want to format pages if you've read the exchange between me and Senna.

    • Yeah I see what you mean. Those are great early talks re formatting episode articles! Exactly the right kind of conversations. I was just thinking of a process to go through and I was wondering if it is worth messaging the other communities you want to merge with that you aren't an admin on just to test the water and see if they are interested.

You can message them with your big idea for a unified car show database and see their reaction. Obviously there is not a set plan yet but if those communities come on board they might be able to offer more ideas and be an extra pair of hands to help with the merge.

Perhaps coming up with at least part of a plan first might be a good course of action in case those communities ask questions about the mechanics of the plan (excuse the pun!). But I still think it might be a good idea to start conversations with those wikis ready for the big merge.

    • Hey there! How's it going? Just checking in to see if I can help. Is the plan still to merge the car show communities? Just thinking it would be good to devise a plan soon so you know where you're headed. I'm happy to assist with that, let me know if I can do anything. :) --Spongebob456 talk@fandom 14:24, March 20, 2020 (UTC)

    • If Alex, believes this merge is correct, then go right ahead. Let the merging begin.
