Top Gear: Uncovered (alternately Richard Hammond's Top Gear Uncovered) was the name of the first direct-to-video Top Gear special, and the third release to feature exclusive scenarios not recorded for the series. It starred Richard Hammond on his own, with neither James May nor Jeremy Clarkson as co-presenter. Jeremy was busy filming Clarkson: Duel and James was occupied for James May's Toy Stories.
The main focus of this DVD involved Richard showcasing how to be a Top Gear presenter, with each aspect going predictably wrong. There were also various stunts filmed for the special, including a Ford Transit turned into a hovercraft and a professional dirt biker running wild in "Hammond's family home", knocking over many fragile objects in the process.
Though never airing in its native UK, the special was broadcast in the United States on BBC America on the 26th of November, 2012.
