Toyota founded in August 1937 by Kiichiro Toyoda. The company supported the government to against importing foreign vehicles in Japan. In 1950s, the company introduced the "The Toyota Way" philosophy. In 1960s, the company introduced the best selling Corolla. It remained a best-selling car in the world. In 1989, Toyota introduced a luxury division the Lexus. In 2009-11, the company faced a largest recalls over 9 million units. Toyota settled for US$1 billion.
