Vauxhall Astra is a compact car built by Vauxhall since 1980. The Astra is the rebadged version of the Opel Kadett (until 1991) and the Opel version with same platform and chassis.

Engines ranged from 1 to 2.4-litre for petrol models and from 1.5 to 2.2 litre for diesel models. Some engines were from other manufacturers like Isuzu, Fiat and others. The smaller inline-3 engines became available in seventh-gen with both N/A and turbocharged varieties, initially with 1-litre sourced from General Motors. The Astra is currently in its eighth generation model, which was introduced in 2021 and had an option for a hybrid engine.

The sixth-gen Astra model was used as the fourth car in the Star in a Reasonably-Priced Car segment from Series 20 to Series 22.
